VOLUNTEERS WANTED TO HELP CREATE JOBS & COMMUNITY GARDENS IN GREATER MONTREAL

MISSION STATEMENT:

1. To promote composting and re-cycling in high rise residential
buildings with garbage chutes on the Island of Montreal.
2. To negotiate with partners for the weekly collection of compost for
delivery to the sponsoring municipal Public Works Department in a
beautification project to create and support neighbourhood community
gardens in each targeted municipal electoral district.
3. To produce and market educational workshops on how and what to
compost for growing vegetables, fruits and flowers on balconies,
patios and in community gardens from neighbourhood compost collected.
4. To register composters and re-cyclers in sponsoring municipalities
and in each participating residential high rise building for
enewsletters, special offers and competitions between neighbourhoods
5. To seek new sponsorship opportunities to support
neighbourhood composting and community gardens.
6. To produce Neighbourhood Garden Tours, Yard & Plant
Sales & Bloom & Harvest gatherings on Neighbourhood Days with the sale
of vegetables, fruits and flowers and re-cycled
materials to create and
support Neighbourhood Watch committees.
